The Quality Management Unit (QMU) in the District Director of Health Services office in Hambantota plays a key role in providing a higher standard of service to enhance healthcare quality and increase productivity in the health sector.Our unit at the DDHS office, along with the other units and other health institutions under its purview, has won numerous awards over the past few years.Several training programs have been conducted to ensure continuous professional development of medical personnel and quality and safety practice of health care professionals. These include the wound care program, eRHMIS training, office management program, Swasta training program (online & physical meeting), waste management lecture, and patients protection and infection control program.Main Responsibilities of the Quality Management Unit:
1. Supervision of QMUs of healthcare institutions under the DDHS Hambantota.
2. Conducting quality improvement activities for healthcare staff.
3. Organizing and conducting team-building activities.
4. Conducting training programs to enhance staff productivity and knowledge.
5. Performing performance appraisals and organizing recognition programs.
