Regional Epidemiology Unit

The Regional Epidemiology Unit at the Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS) Office, Hambantota, plays a critical role in monitoring, preventing, and controlling communicable and non-communicable diseases within the region. Its primary functions include:

  1. Disease Surveillance: Collecting and analyzing health data to identify outbreaks and trends of diseases in the Hambantota district.

  2. Public Health Interventions: Implementing preventive measures, including vaccination programs, outbreak response, and health awareness campaigns.
